On October 10, I was proud to be associated with the NCGOP when the leadership made this commitment to voters:

1. DELIVER QUALITY EDUCATION
The Democrat leadership in Raleigh has created a vast and unproductive bureaucracy that micro manages our local schools, ignoring the wishes of parents and classroom teachers. Republicans will free local schools from Raleigh's red tape, and make sure good teachers are well paid. Schools will be accountable to parents. Tax dollars will be focused on the classroom spending that directly helps teachers to teach and children to learn.

2. PROTECT SENIOR CITIZENS
The Democrat leadership in Raleigh has underserved the Senior Citizens of this state. More and more of our seniors are having difficulty in making ends meet. Medicaid trust funds have been raided. Long term care tax credits have been repealed. Home health care has been compromised...senior issues must be addressed and dealt with, particularly a prescription drug benefit.

3. PROVIDE FOR OUR MOST VULNERABLE CITIZENS
The Democrat leadership in Raleigh has dealt a serious blow to the welfare of our most vulnerable citizens. Actions such as threatening to close mental hospitals, reductions in services to the blind and deaf, and placing a freeze on the community alternative programs have shown contempt for these groups. Compassion and services are essential for our most vulnerable citizens.
